"Red Noise,"" created during the Fem_Lab residency in Vienna in 2023, is a wearable biodesign project that promotes an ecological and fluid approach to understanding our bodies, sexualities, and the natural world. Using an algal biotextile corset embedded with sensors, the project analyzes local natural and human fluids in real time, measuring conductivity, pollution, and pH levels. These live data interactions trigger vocal distortions and changes, delivering messages on water, DIY gynecological experiments, and sacred fluids. By creating a dialogue between internal and external fluids, it establishes an alternative communication channel that deepens the connection between humans and their environment.
Red Noise invites contemplation of embodiment, connectivity, and feminist perspectives on autonomy, agency, and gynecological health and encourages a rethinking of our interactions with the world, urging a more inclusive and sustainable approach to bodies, sexualities, and ecology.

Cristina is a queer artist and designer who explores biomateriality and wearable technology by merging costume design, sexual technology, open source protocols and biohacking.
Her artistic exploration addresses (trans)feminist activism through interactive and performative aesthetics to inspire and encourage debate and critical reflection on the taboos and stigma of our society.
She co-founded Bruixes-Lab, a nomadic lab that organizes workshops around pleasure, biohacking, and DIY sensor circuits.
